Newbury Roofing – Fascia, Soffits and Guttering installer.

Guttering is a series of narrow channels forming the component of a roof system which collects and diverts rainwater. The main purpose of a gutter is to protect a building's foundation by channelling water away from its base. The gutter also helps to reduce erosion, prevents leaks in basements and crawlspaces, protects painted or stained surfaces by reducing exposure to water and provides a means to collect rainwater for later use.

The fascia board is the long, straight board that runs along the lower edge of the roof. The fascia is fixed directly to the roof trusses and usually does all of the work of supporting the bottom row of tiles and carrying all of the guttering. This is no mean feat, especially when it is raining hard. In a downpour the roof of a 3-bed semi could be washing several gallons of water per second into its gutters.

The soffit board is tucked away under the fascia board. It is usually the board that you see the most of from street level. The soffit can be ventilated to allow the flow of air into the roof area. Alternatively ventilation can be provided over the top of the fascia board. Many people prefer the latter solution these days. Without adequate ventilation, condensation will form in the roof void increasing the risk of timber decay.

The bargeboard is the board that is used on the gable end of a house. The condition of the bargeboard can often make or break the look of a house and over the years it has evolved into some very attractive shapes.

Soffits and fascia not only enhances the look of your property, they are a vital part of the roof construction. They can ventilate the roof voids, and keep out nesting birds, bats and other pests.

“Thanks for the work your company carried out replacing the fascia and soffit, and the erection of the new car port. The excellent service and workmanship of your entire staff - especially John and Bobby, who are both a credit to Newbury Roofing - was unparalleled.

The completed job looks brilliant and both my wife and I are over the moon with both jobs. We will always recommend Newbury Roofing to anyone we know who is looking for decent tradesmen.”

A Bayliss,

Thatcham.

“A neighbour suggested using Newbury Roofing to replace the fascia, soffits and guttering to my home as her daughter had, had hers done by them. I'm so grateful she did, as they have done a fantastic job. As with my neighbour, I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

The tradesmen worked to a very high standard and always kept the exterior to my home clean and tidy. They made what I thought would be a stressful period, into a worry-free time with their respectful and friendly attitude towards me.”

Mrs Buxton,

Bucklebury.

“I am writing in respect of the work undertaken at my home last week. I would like to say how pleased I was with the fascia, soffits and guttering you have fixed to my house. They have made such a difference to the look of the property.

Your fitters were very hard working and carried out the installation in a quick, tidy and professional way. The office staff were always very helpful and I would certainly recommend your company to friends and family.”

J B Christmas,

Newbury.

“Thank you for your quick response in carrying out the repairs and for unblocking my guttering. I couldn't believe the amount of muck that was removed from the gutters and roof. The roofer you sent round was absolutely brilliant and did a neat and tidy job.

Once again, thank you for sorting out our problems. I would have no hesitation in recommending Newbury Roofing and will certainly be using you again for any roofing works that may arise in the future.”

C W Peterson,

Newbury.
